It's me again!

I will wait to issue visors next week!

Why not today?

"You see what happened was..."

Because THERE ARE ALREADY Band SHOES and SHIRTS, personal school clothing items, personal shoes, lunch boxes/bags left hear in the bandroom. Not many, but still TOO many. I did not want to run the risk of you loosing your visor; it being misplaced; some non-band student ending up with it; etc.

Therefore, it would BEHOOVE (there's that word again!) all of you to help each other being more mindful and responsible. Help each other out, okay?

Parents/Guardians - Our regular monthly booster meeting is Monday, August 19, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the band room.  Please make every effort to attend.  We have very busy season ahead with important dates and times.  We have some things to discuss.

Band.... Now read this!!!

All right, Greenies! I know that some of you have NOTHING to do today! Here are a few suggestions:

1. Clean your room; layout your stuff for 1st day Monday; finish you SUMMER READING assignment!!!
2. Check your clothes for Monday! Some new school uniform rules. CHECK IT OUT!
3. DO some DCI History research before you watch finals tonight. Some of my faves: 1980 27th Lancers full show; 1987 Cavaliers (check out the glide step!); 87 Garfield Cadets (Appalachian Spring... ballet on turf! Rapport with the audience!) Sky Riders and Velvet Knights, late 80's; and Santa Clara Vanguard 87 -89. All good stuff...getting it done.
4. Get back to your SUMMER READING assignment!!!

End of Summer Band Party

NO BAND REHEARSAL - THURSDAY AUGUST 8TH

BAND!!  Now read this!!

There will be NO REHEARSAL on Thursday, 8 Aug. Thank you for a successful Band Camp!!

See you at the Band's End-of-Summer Party on Friday, 9 Aug.  Check out the information on the invitation that was sent out earlier than this message!

There is a special DCI event at the theater in Covington. Check the band's Facebook page; Tyler "Um-bop" Hanson posted the information for everyone.

There are a few more people that need to be fitted in uniforms. Mrs. Hill, Shawn's mom, will take care of you before the party.  (Ken'yarian, Cameron, Brytton, Amanda, Rayne, Zack Riche, Zippie)

School tours are tomorrow morning for freshmen and tomorrow afternoon for upperclassmen. You should have gotten details in a phone message sent from PHS administration (Mrs. Crovetto usually does this).

Last Day of Band Camp 2013

Band... Now Read This!!!

I am so proud of all of your hard work throughout our time together. Tomorrow, it all comes together with a full day of cleaning drill, cleaning music, AND cleaning our rooms at 19452! Here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Tomorrow IS a workday! 
   
2. Pack a lunch and a late afternoon snack. Our day ends around 7:00PM.
3. Wear a t-shirt for rehearsals (guard in orange practice t-shirt); BRING your BAND CAMP SECTION shirt for tomorrow's End-of-Camp performance. Shorts, socks, tennis shoes same as camp.
   
4. We need to police our areas (clean up) as we go throughout the day. Please pitch in and help.

Families and friends ARE invited to see the preview performance. Bring a "lawn chair", ice chest, picnic basket, or such, if you wish. And please take this opportunity to meet and greet other "band family members"... Were all in this together!

I am very please with all of your work and efforts. I am very blessed, humbled and honored to be your band director.

Lastly, I understand that tomorrow's "activity" is "Square Day!" Looking forward to that, especially after today!
