28 Sep Bandboree in Lafayette Information


Band... Now read this!!

Here is the detailed information for Bandboree! Please read it carefully. I will make this available as a handout, so that you can have a hardcopy. We will go over the information on Thursday, 26 Sep.


Bandboree: Saturday 28 Sep 2013
What is it? Jamboree for Marching Band. A chance to perform "Pre-Season" before the October Contest/Competition season. An opportunity to interact with MB programs from the greater Acadiana Area. We are the only Tangipahoa Parish School Band that participates in this style of marching band activity.

When-Saturday September 28, 2013  from 10:30 am to midnight

Where-This event takes place at
Lafayette HS, 3000 W. Campus Street Lafayette, 70506 

How- Travel will be by three buses and two trucks/trailers

Why- Pre Season Performance (We have 3 festival/competition events in October)    Provides assessment to help prepare for successful MB festival/ Contest Season     There is no such event in our area.

 Schedule
10:30 A.M.  Report to PHS BRING A LUNCH!!  (Winterguard auditions will be in progress; follow instructions; run through w/ prerecorded music; dress; load depart)

12:30           Depart
2:30             Arrive in Lafayette; FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!
3:00             Dress/Warm-up
3:45             Mass Band Rehearsal on Field (Hey Baby)
4:45             All-Schools Seniors: SSB Rehearsal
5:15             Opening Ceremony: Star-Spangled Banner by All-Schools Seniors
5:30             SHOWTIME! for PONCHATOULA!! We Perform!

Band Performances continue every 15 minutes. Order of bands: Rayne, Loreauville, Kaplan, New Iberia, Westgate, Acadiana, Delcambre, Carencro, Erath, Abbeville, North Vermillion, St. Thomas More, and Lafayette.

9:00             Mass Band Performance of Hey, Baby!
9:30             Dance Party begins and ends promptly at 10:15 for us!!
Midnight     Arrive Home at PHS
